After more than four years as CEO of Nordic Brass Gusum, Björn Wiborg has chosen to move on from his position at his own request. Under his leadership, the company has undergone significant changes, delivered a strong result despite a weaker market and strengthened its position in the industry. As new CEO, the Board of Directors has appointed Fredrik Pettersson, who is currently CEO of the sister company Cupori in Finland. Moving forward, Fredrik Petterson will combine his existing role with his new assignment for Nordic Brass Gusum, which creates good conditions for collaboration and synergies between the Lazarus-owned companies.
Fredrik Petterson will assume the role of CEO on November 1, 2025. To ensure a smooth transition, Björn Wiborg will remain with Nordic Brass Gusum until the end of the year. He will then take on a new position within the owner company Lazarus Industriförvaltning, focusing on investment development and contributing his experience as a board representative for both Nordic Brass Gusum and its sister company Cupori.
– It has been a fantastic journey and a privilege to lead Nordic Brass Gusum, which today has one of Europe’s leading factories for brass production. Although I am now stepping down as CEO, I look forward being part of the company’s journey and to contribute in my role as a board representative, says Björn Wiborg, outgoing CEO of Nordic Brass Gusum.
Appointed CEO Fredrik Pettersson has solid experience in the metal industry, including many years in senior positions within the Stena Group.
– Being appointed CEO of a company with such a rich history and clear future potential is incredibly exciting. I look forward to building on a legacy that stretches back over 300 years and developing the business together with our employees and partners. At the same time, Cupori’s journey continues with the same energy and commitment, and I am excited to explore new opportunities for collaboration between the companies, says incoming CEO Fredrik Pettersson.
– I want to express my sincere gratitude to Björn for his dedicated leadership and commitment, which have been instrumental in positing the company to where it is today. In parallel, Fredrik has successfully led Cupori in an impressive turnaround and he will continue to drive the positive development forward. At the same time, Fredrik’s experience makes him a natural CEO for Nordic Brass Gusum and with his dual assignments, we see great opportunities to further strengthen the collaboration between Cupori and Nordic Brass Gusum, says Per Lindberg, Chairman of the Board of Nordic Brass Gusum.
