Metal producers Nordic Brass Gusum and Cupori merge – forming Nordic Metal Group

The Nordic region’s two leading producers of copper tube and brass are joining forces in a shared group to create a Nordic metal group. Through NM Group AB, Nordic Metal Group, the collaboration between Nordic Brass Gusum and Cupori is strengthened, while the offering to customers is broadened and the conditions for continued growth and expansion are improved.

Nordic Brass Gusum is one of Sweden’s oldest industrial companies, with roots dating back to the 1600s, and is today the Nordic region’s only brass mill. Cupori, which has an equally long industrial history, is the Nordic region’s only manufacturer of copper tube. Together, the companies combine several centuries of industrial expertise with modern sustainability work and are today leading in Europe in the production of copper tube and brass products with a low climate footprint. The combined turnover of the two companies amounted to SEK 2,035 million in 2025.

For about five years, Nordic Brass Gusum and Cupori have had the same owner, Lazarus Industriförvaltning, and for some time now also a shared CEO. The next step in the companies’ development is now being taken as the operations are brought together in the new group, NM Group AB. The new group structure creates better conditions for developing the collaboration, harnessing the companies shared strengths, and creating long-term value for employees, customers and suppliers. At the same time, the structure lays the foundation for the group’s clear growth ambitions. The goal is to grow in the coming years, both organically through the existing operations and through strategic acquisitions that strengthen the group’s position.

– Nordic Brass Gusum and Cupori belong together. Through the merger, two Nordic market leaders become even stronger together. We complement each other well, with similar processes, and both companies have a long and solid industrial history in which we share customer segments and a number of customers. Together, we bring together expertise, experience and industrial excellence under one shared umbrella, giving us better opportunities to offer a broad range of metal products with high flexibility, delivery reliability, quality and service. We are now becoming an even stronger Nordic partner through NM Group AB, says Fredrik Pettersson, CEO of Nordic Brass Gusum and Cupori.

NM Group AB will become a leading Nordic industrial group focused on the production of copper tube and brass. The group will have production in both Sweden and Finland.

– We are uniting two leading industrial companies to create a Nordic force in copper and brass, with the ambition of setting a new standard for quality, innovation and competitiveness internationally. This is a long-term investment in Nordic industry and in two companies with enormous potential, says Martin Alsander, Partner at Lazarus Industriförvaltning.

NM Group AB brings together around 240 employees, and for these employees day-to-day operations will largely continue as before within a new group structure, where the ambition is to gradually deepen the collaboration to strengthen the group’s overall offering and value.
